Kilometric sign in Oltenita, Romania, Oktober 2008 |
The hecto metric signs are the red numbers on the white ground along the Danube. That's a lot of work to paint the stones. Kilometric signs are white on black boards.

I'm glad it's not my job to paint these signs. :)
ReplyDeletered is the perfect paint color for that.
ReplyDeleteI like the 3-D aspect!
ReplyDeleteInteresting placement for the hecto metric signs - the gardener will need to be vigilant!
ReplyDeleteI think I don't mind having this job. As long as I can take my camera with me lol!! ^_^ See the second photo I bet across it is beautiful!! ^_^

It does seem like a lot of work but how nice to be able to track your progress along the river. Of course, now with GPS it is not so important.
ReplyDeleteI like that they are 3-d too. Nice photos. Where are we going tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteInteresting... but what is the PURPOSE of these distance signs for ships?
ReplyDeleteInteresting, I never though about sign for ships, but it makes sense! Nice, fresh paint too.
ReplyDeleteAt least you can stay in the lines when the numbers are raised!
ReplyDeleteThese are sort of like the mile markers along our interstate highways. Love the red...really easy to see. I learned something new today. Genie
