Somewhere between Livingstone and Lusaka, Zambia, April 2010 |
That's the way we traveled in the rural areas in Africa from CapeTown (South Africa) to Nairobi (Kenya). In the big cities we did couchsurfing.
Linked to ABC Wednesday, Z is todays letter.
Linked to signs, signs.
I like this phots. Africa is another history.
ReplyDeleteGreetings.
Nice. But where's JR?

Africa, what a wonderful fascinating place. I have only been to Kenya. I loved seeing your son playing with the Zambian child. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI love the way your family travels - so carefree. That is the best way to meet the local people.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots from what must have been a fantastic trip!
ReplyDeleteFascinating photos of a part of the world I'd love to visit one day.
ReplyDeleteWow. What a wonderful experience! Great shots too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteYour son looks so happy and relaxed in this photo. Kids have no trouble playing together even when they don't speak the same language.
ReplyDeleteI especially loved the photo of the man and your son and his. I love to paint children of other countries and lifestyles in watercolor. In fact, today I have posted a little Zapotec boy from Soutern Mexico.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful trip this must have been.
Carola, you have had (and are having) the most fabulous adventures ever. I love following along. The picture of the family here is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to live and travel! A chance in a lifetime to see and experience something different. Nice photos!
ReplyDeleteSomebody has big dreams!
ReplyDeleteLovely photo with your boy and the other Zambian boy.
I haven't tried couchsurfing. I don't know if I will. But I know people who welcome surfers in their couch :)
ReplyDeleteI am in awe! Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting. Cute kids.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why the name Dallas has been adopted in Zambia! Great photo of the children together and love the man's gentle gesture toward the children!
ReplyDeleteHahaha I thought that place is Texas! ^_^ You got me Carola nice post. ^_^
ReplyDeleteSigns,Signs
This is a place I want to explore in the future, love to see the wilderness!
ReplyDeleteI like that the kids played together - doesn't matter that they didn't know each other! The sign is welcoming.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting life! :-) Count me in with all the rest who love the photo of your son and the other young fellow. They look very close in age.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are on a real adventure.
ReplyDeleteI never had the guts to do something as adventurous as that in my entire life.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why anyone in Africa would name their ranch Dallas?
What a fabulous way to take a trip...Buddy and I have talked about doing it, too. Love that the children got to play together. That is a wonderful experience they will always remember. genie

Glad to see you're still posting amazing photos, Carola! Hope you're well.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome. YOU are awesome. I love each and every comment (I know I'm bad in responding to them). Glad that you like my post. Happy to have you here. This are the most comments I ever got. And I would have never expected it. Surprises like this are great. Photoblogging is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteZambia is a great country, realy unspoiled, less traveld. For us it was easy. To travel with children is much easier than so many think and yes, you see it in the picture, they enjoy it. Most important for us: SLOW travel, with no fixed plans.
