This lady with her son is drying beans on the street |
it's the Pan Americana or Central America Highway 1 |
not busy with traffic, but with lots of people at work |
in El Salvador, November 2009 |
The letter for todays ABC Wednesday is S. It's the street which is used in a different way.
That is very unique. I guess that is using what ever is available.

Does anyone ever run over the beans? Or do they respect the farmers?

Wow-that is really interesting-drying beans by the roadside. Just think of all the exhaust fumes that landed on their food source. The pitfalls of Western Civilization, for sure!
ReplyDeleteThey must be very resourceful people. I can't imagine how hard this must be dogging all the motorists.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit-Ann

ReplyDeletei thought this practice is unique to the Philippines.:p this is a familiar scene in our rural areas here, too.:p
ReplyDeleteWhat a fascinating (and Sobering) glimpse of life in El Salvador. Luna's comment that the Scene is also a familiar one to the Philippines Struck me as well. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your comments.
ReplyDeleteThere is very less traffic. And the cars do respect the farmers.
@Luna Miranda: I'm sometimes surprised to find things so simillar in different poor parts of the world. For examples the small shops and unfinished houses in Central America or in Asia.
Interesting post and great shots. Carver ABC-Wed. Team
