What are you doing?

I enjoy swimming and beeing in the water, in a pool, a lake, a river, the ocean. It doesn't matter where.
And Thomas loves it too.
Have you ever tried floating in a river for some kilometers / miles? I like to remember two places. Great was floating in the Kettle River near Rock Creek, Canada. The river Rhine near Diessenhofen, Swiss is perfect for floating too. There is a possibility to float around 2 km / 1,24 mi.

Driving by the Dortmunder U

Taken from the bus  The Dortmunder U

From Wikipedia: The Dortmund U-Tower is a brewery building in the city of Dortmund, Germany. It was the first skyscraper of Dortmund, built in 1926-1927. The high-rise Union Brewery used this building for the fermentation and storage of their products. In 1994 the brewery and all its surrounding buildings were closed and demolished, only the Dortmund U-Tower was spared due to having landmark status. In January 2008 the Dortmund U-Tower was decided to be redeveloped as a flagship project for the "Ruhr 2010 - Cultural Capital of Europe".

Look up

This is my Sky Watch Friday. Here you can link up your sky shots.

"Look up, marvel at the ephemeral beauty, and always remember to live life with your head in the clouds!"
This quote is from The cloud Appreciation Society. If you love clouds you should have a look at this site.

Just a spring day in Lünen

The river Lippe is runnung through Lünen
It was just an ordinary work day. And I had my camera with me. And the weather was fantastic. Monday means I have to walk a bit between different work places, so that's for me the opportunity to see, to stand still and open my eyes.
And I walked another way along the river Lippe.
When I say this pictures on the computer I realy felt the need to keep on blogging. I don't know how often, but here it is.

Stuck in the social media

Pile or stack?

After posting this on flickr and instagram and  G+ I'm back here participating in the 52 Photos Project.
Often I just play around on this social media platforms. Just figgering out what I would like to share here. I still love my blog and it is quite some time from the start in January 2010.

Something interesting to read from Emma Davies Photo:
"Blogging is getting more social by the day. Bloggers are turning off comments and moving their engagement over to social media. They are posting micro updates on social platforms where previously they would have put up a blog post.
Why? It’s quick, it’s personal and it’s so much easier than actual blogging. In the word of 2015 – it’s frictionless. Readers on mobiles can engage instantly with you, without having to log in and navigate through comment boxes. You can carry conversations on as easily as sending a text. The world is moving to app-based interaction, away from websites."
What do you think?

Our World Tuesday

Some fresh shots from my new walkaround camera, a little Sony DSC-RX-100. I hope it's a good compromise between the Canon DSLR EOS 550D and the smartphone. Right now I'm happy and I plan to take it on our next outdoor trip.
