Where the wolves howl

The very most end of the South Arm from Yellowstone Lake. Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA, August 2009
Yes, here it was.
I like to remember the night in our tent at our backcountry campsite 5L2. (Some hundred meters from the lake.)

We heard wolves holing!
Just incredibel. What a sound. No fear. Awesome. I loved it. Can't forget it. True wilderness.
It was summer. A cold night. We snuggled up all together in our thiny tent.

"We listened for a voice crying in the wilderness. And we heard the jubilation of wolves!"

Wordless

Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA, August 2009
Linked to Wordless Wednesday.

Just a little bit about me

I'm an adventurer – photoblogger – mum – longterm traveller – a dreamer – and I live my dreams (from time to time)

Here my interest is mainly on Photography. I share my images from my long time travels with my family around the world. And in contrast I share my photography from home in Germany. There are so many things I learn here in a fantastic communication with you.

Another interest is Minimalism.

Beside that I love nature, couchsurfing, travel, running, wilderness with kids, trekking, nomadic living, the ocean

Travel
I did a three year circumnavigation in a 21 ft (6,50 m) sailboat with my husband and one son (westbound). Our sailing book (in German).
I traveled two years eastbound around the world mainly on land with two sons and my husband. I love couchsurfing and we did it on this tour 37 times in 17 countries in five continents.

Costa Rica – In the morning

Bahia de Salinas, Costa Rica, November 2009
Traveling by car from Canada to Panama was not always easy. But we found very quite and beautiful places. After crossing the border (always so much hassle) out of Nicaragua it got dark and we had no idea where to sleep. Where should we go? Hans had a great idea: From internet he had coordinates from places where others had spend the night, somewhere at the beach. Even it was totally dark and it was only a thiny unpaved road, which seemed to go nowhere, it was easy to find this place.

In the sand. Under some trees.

Alone.

We could not see the ocean but it was very close. (For sure we checked the distance.)

We pitched the tent and had a wonderful night.

With waves making our bedtime sound.

Imagine to wake up and don't know how it does look like.

Hans, our two kids and I, we had a beautiful morning at the beach.

This was our place.

The next two nights we did couchsurfing in Santa Cruz with a young family.

For travel this two possibilities to stay at night are my favorite. In nature places sleeping in the tent is the best.
In urban areas it's best to stay with other people in their homes and get to know the local culture, that is couchsurfing.

Linked to ABC Wednesday and the letter for today is C for Costa Rica. Or for Camping in Costa Rica.

Night life

Dongola, Northern, Sudan, May 2010
From Wikipedia: Dongola (also spelled Dunqulah or Dunqula, Arabic دنقلا, and formerly sometimes known as Al 'Urdi) is the capital of the state of Northern (or asch-Schamaliyya (arabisch ‏الشماليةasch-Schamāliyya)in Sudan, on the banks of the Nile.
The region is called Nubia.

With different busses we followed the Nile and stopped in oasis towns or villages. At the end of May it was so HOT there, even at night. But the people were so welcoming, it was a pleasure to walk around and sog up the desert towns atmosphere. Everybody seems to know each other.
