Closer to the sky - Nanga Parbat

View from the Karakorum Highway.

Closer to this awesome mountain: in the Tarashing Valley, Astore District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. March 2009.

That's where the trekking of the Rupal face of Nanga Parbat starts.

For our family it was an big adventure to come here.

What an incredible experience! Fabulous photos of a magnificent mountain. When your son is 12 or 14, he'll want to do it again, so that he can remember it.

Carola,

Just stumpled upon your blog and you wowed me with your adventures and your photography.

Thanks a lot for visiting Pakistan inspite of all the negative image/vibes it has been getting through the media.

I appreciate your effort and literally loved your blog, your spirt and you being a travelling mom!

Peace!
