Istanbul

Time for a chai (turkish tea)

View over the Bosphorus from Üsküdar on the Asian side, towards the historic Peninsula with Eminönu in Europe. November 2008.

After spending three weeks in this fascinating city (while traveling over land to Iran), I call Istanbul one of my favorite big cities in the world. I love the uniqueness, the very special atmosphere.

It's been many, many years since I was in Istanbul. Yet I still have many wonderful memories. Your photo makes me want to return.

Istanbul, not Constantinople?

sorry, there was a 1953 song by that name, covered in the 1990s by Barenaked Ladies.

Istanbul has been on the top of my "to visit soon" list for a long time... That would be a lovely spot for a tea.
