Quotations house

“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

“Age does not make us childish, as some say; it finds us true children.”
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

We always have time enough, ...

...if we will but use it aright.
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

These are my last shots from 2013. I like to be in the forest and it is great to spend the time doing what you love.

Linking to ABC Wednesday with todays letter Y.
Y is for Year! O.k. not very original, but it fits for today, I think.

ABC Wednesday - Q is for ...

Part of a mural on a school yard building

... "Quiet is the New Loud". "What should I post for Q". My idea: The album title from Kings of Convenience. Great music!

Reading means borrowing

“Twenty years from now ...

We are going by bus, in the north of Kenya, between Marsabit and Moyale on the way to Ethiopia, May 2010

Andreas is watching
... you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Which way do you go?

Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa, March 2010
We took the roads north bound. Our start for Africa over land. From Cape Town to Alexandria. This was a part from our two years around this globe.

I forgot to mention that we came from Buenos Aires by plane.

"The use of travelling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are." Samuel Johnson

I like this kind of signposts.

“Nothing is older than yesterday’s newspaper”

"We all know that the purpose of yesterday's newspapers, however excellent they are, is to wrap up fish. "

And what about todays newspaper? Do you read one daily?

“Make things as simple as possible but no simpler.”

The quote is from Albert Einstein.

This is my contribution to ABC Wednesday. The letter today is Y and stands for Year 2012.
And yes, for Yellow.

You're waiting for a train. A train that will take you far away

Bochum Hauptbahnhof (Main Station), Germany, April 2011
Do you see me?
Just going back home after work. Not so far away. But stations are places to dream.
Or to play with the camera.

Quote from the film "Inception"

Any idiot can face a crisis, it is this day-to-day living that wears you out

Dortmund-Brechten, March 2011

Quote from Anton Chekhov.
My friend Sanne Kurz, a cinematographer from Munich, made the Film 1,2,3. This short film starts with the quote.

Time never waits?

Heart Lake, Yellowstone National Park, USA, August 2009

Moments when time stands still
moments when you have time
not measured with a clock
just by the sun
that are my favorite moments.
LongtimeTraveling is full of these moments.

The titel quote is from Jack Johnsons song Monsoon.
