Shipping signs at the Danube

Kilometric sign in Oltenita, Romania, Oktober 2008

The hecto metric signs are the red numbers on the white ground along the Danube. That's a  lot of work to paint the stones. Kilometric signs are white on black boards.

Loo with a view

In the morning, Dubova, Romania, October 2008
While cycling the Danube bike way we found a nice place for our tent. It was close to a new (and big) house under construction. And this loo was for the workers. A quite place at night, because nobady was there.
And so beautiful at the Danube.

In Romania

October 2008

If you want some adventure, nature and a new look on Europe, I recommend going by bicycle through Romania. While cycling along the river Danube, we saw a lot of horse and cart. We enjoyed this rural area close to the border to Bulgaria very much. So quite, only a few cars a day, or no ones. Best of all, the people we met, very friendly and hospitable. It was always easy to find a place to pitch our tent for the night.

Romania is full of contrast. For a different view visit Franciscas Blog
