What a great concept!
I seem to remember this bike sharing system being used as a model for one they are trying to bring here. We used to have one, but people kept stealing the bikes.
The only rent a bike system I know of appears in national parks here in Australia. On my peninsula, at the far end of the peninsula, you can rent push bikes, motorised bikes or tandems to see the sights in the park!
We have the Bixi bike sharing system here in Toronto for about the last year or so and it seems to be quite popular.
Just this year our university has decided to put in a bike sharing program. They brought in people who know what they are doing, so it should work. We'll have to wait and see.
Must have been Brisbane because we don't have a system like that in Sydney yet.
Seems like a wonderful idea!
I have seen a few of these bike sharing bikes - but ours don't have quite such a big sign on them!
