In Lusaka we met Patrick (via couchsurfing.org). Watch a video about our visit here on You Tube. He lives outside the slum Chawarma and has a small traditionell restaurant (he cooks only on charcoal ) in the Tourismen Ministry Building in Lusaka. The video is mainly in english.

I've never been to Africa; this seems like a place to start!

I've always dreams of going to Africa. When I was in High School I wanted to be a teacher at a Mission in Africa. Then in College I met, fell in love and married a Preacher.. We never got to Africa...but it's been a good life.
The boy has an Arsenal FC badge stitched to his jumper, but I'll forgive him that!
These are amazing. The one of the boys is wonderful.
What fabulous fotos, especially the one of the group of boys! I've always wanted to visit Africa!

Your boys have had a great opportunity to see the world and meet people with their eyes still wide open and not loaded with prejudice or cynicism.
I LOVED the video!
Your adventure in Zaire is a wonderful Z post. The top photo is stunning. The boys look curious, I look I know so well; I suspect they don't see too many blond boys in these parts! :-D The video made me smile from beginning to end... the dust, the heat, the noise, the people mingling... and Patrick doing his bit for his country while his brothers migrated. It's an international story. Thanks for sharing this.
Amazing. Especially the second from the bottom.
Thanks for your lovely comments.
Kris and Francisca: Wonderful that I got your feed back from the video. Yours are the first responses to a video link. Glad that you liked it.
