When I was growing up at the edge of the Black Forest, there was a storks' nest on a building across the road. But then, sometime in the early 50's the storks failed to return. I understand that there are more storks again - I was really pleased to see some in or around Lueneburg a few years back.
Fantastic, very well captured. Posts like that must be a favourite of the storks. Here in Norway they are very rarely seen. The only one I have ever spotted, had also placed itself on top of a similar streetlight.

That's quite incredible. Of course, here we only know of storks through stories, and no story I know talks of storks standing on lampposts!

This must be the King Stork standing on his throne and surveying his land. What a majestic shot of one beautiful bird. Excellent photography. genie
Beautiful picture you show a stork.
Wishing you a good Sunday.

Wonderful find... this puts a smile on my face :^)
Amazing capture.
I saw storks in Romania last year too. I was told they had been disappearing but were slowly coming back. Great shot, Carola!
Lovely shot!
