This afternoon, on the way to Waltrop |
Indeed photos from my travel look different to the ones from here.
I miss the wilderness. I miss exotic. I miss nature. I miss adventure.
So there will be more pics from there.
In Ethiopia, on the way from Konso to Dimeka, May 2010 |
In Kenya, on the way from Nairobi to Moyale, May 2010 |
this is the bus, in the north of Kenya, close to the border, only gravel from Marsabit on |

Hiya Carola,
Brilliant juxtaposition.
I'm waiting for the book :-)
Must be very hard to get used again to a more ordered life.
I can understand that you miss it, it must be great to travel around in the world like you do.
Interesting how photos of the most usual things look so much more exciting when they are from there rather than here!
I take the bus every weekday.

We still have this kind of bus in the Philippines most specially those place that is too far and the road is not cemented. The irony is that those bus that are not new and almost ready to give in are the ones who go to the mountain whose roads are like face that has plenty of acne hehe (sorry for my description can't think of any words ^_^)

We have a bus here in the village - 3 times a day. I think I must use it and leave the pick up at home. Brings it into perspective,

Love these pictures. So much feeling, emotion, color....just marvelous!
Great shots Carola! Remember adventure is where you find it. Even in your own buses. By the way, I loved Denver.
I'm with you... too clean, too organized, too boring. It's part of the reason I love living in the Philippines. Asia is history in the making. But you do need some courage to ride those old buses. Here in the news today a bus drove off a ramp, killing a number of people. Still, the risk is worth taking. “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all!” - Helen Keller
Ah, those African buses and those African roads -- and the African massage!
An interesting way to travel!
Ah yes the unpaved roads of Kenya. I remember some of those. Great pictures of exotic places and bus is a great way to see them.
I think that is how much of the world gets around. I imagine that travel by bus is a good way to get to know the people and the culture.
